Multivariate analysis of morpho-physiological traits in bread wheat genotypes under terminal heat stress

چکیده
Terminal heat stress has great impact on the quantity and quality of bread wheat that ultimately pose a serious concern about food security. The presence genetic variability suitable selection criteria is imperative for screening genotypes tolerance. Therefore, 60 advanced breeding lines four standard checks were evaluated morpho-physiological traits under late sown condition to understand importance principal component analysis in reduction large correlated data into few major components account maximum variability. The impact of terminal heat stress on yield and heat tolerance of bread wheat
In arid and semi-arid regions of the world bread wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) yield is highlylimited due to late season heat stress, mostly occurring during the reproductive phase. Hence thecurrent study was conducted to evaluate the effect of late season heat stress on grain yield andyield components of 20 spring bread wheat cultivars. For this purpose, a stripe block experimentincluding four ...
متن کاملDifferential Physiological Responses of Portuguese Bread Wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) Genotypes under Aluminium Stress
The major limitation of cereal production in acidic soils is aluminium (Al) phytotoxicity which inhibits root growth. Recent evidence indicates that different genotypes within the same species have evolved different mechanisms to cope with this stress. With these facts in mind, root responses of two highly Al tolerant Portuguese bread wheat genotypes—Barbela 7/72/92 and Viloso mole—were investi...
متن کاملEffect of Recurrent Selection on Drought Tolerance and Related Morpho-Physiological Traits in Bread Wheat
Drought is one of the major abiotic stresses affecting wheat yield. A recurrent selection program was conducted to improve the drought tolerance and yield of bread wheat using drought tolerant advanced breeding lines from a drought tolerant x susceptible cross (HI 1500 x HUW 510). The parental lines were evaluated for yield, biomass and harvest index (HI) in addition to the drought adaptive tra...
متن کاملPath Analysis of Yield Related Traits in Wheat Genotypes under Normal Irrigation and Drought Stress Conditions
For identification of correlations and relations among different traits in bread wheat, 30 genotypes were investigated based on a split plot experiment in the form of randomized complete block design with three replications under normal and moisture stress conditions during the 2016-2017 crop season. The results of the analysis of variance showed that the effect of genotypes was significant for...
متن کاملComparison of Leaf Sheath Transcriptome Profiles with Physiological Traits of Bread Wheat Cultivars under Salinity Stress.
Salinity stress has significant negative effects on plant biomass production and crop yield. Salinity tolerance is controlled by complex systems of gene expression and ion transport. The relationship between specific features of mild salinity stress adaptation and gene expression was analyzed using four commercial varieties of bread wheat (Triticum aestivum) that have different levels of salini...
